It’s Drekker Friday! I really don’t know how this started, but many people in the beer community on Instagram celebrate Fridays by drinking a Drekker beer!

Drekker Brewing Company is located in Fargo, North Dakota and is on many beer lover’s bucket list of breweries to visit. I too would love to make a trip to experience this brewery. I’d go in the Summer though. I don’t think I could deal with the Winter up there.
Drekker Brewing was started by four friends; Mark, Darin, Jesse and Mason. They believe that beer is more about what happens when friends get together and raise their glasses in fun, than what is actually in the glass. They call themselves four regular guys that are passionate about beer.

Drekker is known for their sour beers. This is one of their Braaaaaaaans series. This edition is brewed with raspberry, strawberry and lime. It is a double fruited smoothie sour. They used Magnum and Hallertau Blanc hops. Sea salt, lactose and vanilla bean were also added. You should give the can a “gentle” roll before opening according to the can.

This beer pours thick and has the consistency of a smoothie. The raspberry hits me right off the bat and the lime is present all the way through. The strawberry shows up in the middle of my sip. This is a great beer that doesn’t taste like a beer. This is a style Drekker is know for and is brewed for “the Viking in all of us!”

Cheers and Happy Drekker Friday!! Have a great weekend!
